One-way truck rental is one of the most efficient and cost-effective ways to move. After over fifty years in the business, we've seen just about everything. And we know that a rental truck can be a great tool for anyone making a smallish move over a short distance. However, many people who would benefit most from truck rental are intimidated by it. Here at Gordon Jensen Trucking & Storage, we want to break down some of the barriers to one-way truck rental.
Truck Rental Requirements
It doesn't take much to rent a truck. One common misperception is that renting a moving van or truck requires a CDL. That simply isn't true. Moving trucks aren't considered commercial vehicles. To rent a truck, a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and a credit card are the only requirements. Renters must be 18 or over. Holds are placed on credit cards to ensure availability of funds. Final charges are only for the equipment used.
Truck Rental Tips
While the requirements to rent a one-way moving truck or van are simple, there are also some tips that should be kept in mind. It's always a good idea to take a look at the truck before driving it off our lot. That way, if there is an issue, it can be taken care of early on or noted. At Gordon Jensen Trucking & Storage, we take pride in our fleet. We strive for a clean, well-maintained fleet. Another tip is to treat the trip from the lot to the packing site like a test drive. The truck is easier to drive with no load.
